Lowell Teen Hit by Car, Killed

2-5 Lowell CrashLOWELL, Ore. — Oregon State Police are investigating a crash that killed a 15-year-old.

Troopers say a driver saw three teens walking along the shoulder of Pioneer St. Wednesday night. He steered to miss the teens. He didn’t see the fourth person, a 15-year-old Lowell girl, who was walking in the middle of the street.

“So what they were doing, we don’t know right now,” said OSP Patrol Sgt. Allan Gilbert. “We’re looking into why the driver didn’t see the 4th juvenile. We’re in the process of investigating that right now.”

Troopers have yet to release the victim’s identity. They closed Pioneer Street as they reconstructed the crash.
