Lyerla Has First Drug Court Appearance

EUGENE, Ore. — Former University of Oregon football player Colt Lyerla made his first appearance in Lane County Drug Court Wednesday, following his arrest last Wednesday.

Lyerla was one of the last people to be called before the judge, who said she wanted him to see how the court worked.

The judge then made the decision to postpone his entrance to the drug treatment program to give the public defender time to go over the police reports.

Officials say they caught Lyerla snorting what they claim was cocaine near 7th Avenue and Polk Street last week in Eugene.

Lyerla is due back in drug court on Nov. 8.
