Main Break Doesn’t Impact School

EUGENE, Ore. – Wednesday morning’s water main break was right across the street from South Eugene High School. The school held its first official full day back with all of its students Wednesday.

The principal says even though the main break was right next door, it didn’t seem to hurt traffic too much.

“Things went well. We didn’t have students that were complaining or parents complaining that they couldn’t get to school on time. My guess is the city workers are doing the very best they can to keep the traffic flowing,” said Principal Randy Bernstein, South Eugene High School.

Bernstein says the detours were actually flowing in the direction of the school so that helped. Students who drive home after school, can avoid the road closure all together.
