COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — A Cottage Grove man will spend the next year in prison for failing to pay nearly $900,000 in federal excise taxes.
William Meyers admitted to filing more than 70 false tax returns on behalf of his business, Side Pocket Food Company, a distilled spirits plant that deals mostly with blending and bottling.
After he’s released from prison, Meyers will serve 100 hours of community service and repay $873,000.
