Man Arraigned for Attempted Murder

Joseph EskaEUGENE, Ore. — The suspect in an early morning shooting in Junction City Monday was formally arraigned forĀ attempted murder Tuesday.

Joseph Eska was formally charged inside the Lane County Jail courtroom Tuesday afternoon on one charge of attempted murder.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office says Eska shot a woman, Katie Prideflower Ortiz, in the head early Monday morning inside a Junction City home. Police say the suspect then barricaded himself inside a trailer at Creswell Court.

He will be back in court on June 10.
