GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Oregon State Police troopers arrested a man after he allegedly assaulted another man, pointed a rifle at his wife and fired numerous shots, Monday.
OSP says around 8:30 p.m., three troopers responded to a shots fired call in the 4600 block of Rogue River Highway.
Troopers were notified the suspect, Jeremy Joulsohn, 32, of Grants Pass, left on foot after assaulting a 34-year-old man.
Witnesses say Joulsohn was upset at his wife and pointed a loaded rifle at her before he grabbed the barrel and fired numerous rounds away from her and other people nearby.
Troopers found Joulsohn at a nearby home and took him into custody without further incident. He was lodged in the Josephine County Jail on charges of felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, assault in the third degree, warrant- fail to appear in the second degree.
The male assault victim was transported by ambulance to Three Rivers Hospital for treatment of facial injuries.
