Man Arrested for Burglarizing Homes

Jonathan BoutonEUGENE, Ore. — A Eugene man is in jail, accused of burglarizing homes in the area, and police are searching for a second suspect.

The Eugene Police Department arrested Jonathan Bouton, who’s been on their radar for months after police say he burglarized multiple homes, stealing credit cards, jewelry and cars.

Police say Bouton and a man they’ve identified as Jacob Sirois have been breaking into homes during the day and stealing various items they can easily walk away with. Police say the pair would then use stolen credit cards to buy things in stores and online.

Some victims of these crimes helped police track down Bouton, looking at the locations where the stolen credit cards were used.

“A lot of the M.O. of both these guys would be to use your stolen credit card either to purchase fuel, personal items, and even go as far as purchasing precious metals online,” said Rick Lowe, Eugene Police Department.

Police are still looking for Sirois and believe he could be traveling between Eugene and Portland by car, bus or train.

Anyone with information on where Sirois might be is asked to call the Eugene Police Department.
