EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene police arrested a man who they say exposed himself to a teacher and students at Willamette High School.
Tuesday morning at about 8 a.m., police say 33-year-old Christopher Lynn Vanorden entered one of the classrooms with some students.
The Bethel School District says it was the choir class. They say the teacher didn’t recognize Vanorden, so she approached and questioned him. In an attempt to figure out who he was, the teacher called Vanorden to the front of the room. At that point, police say Vanorden exposed himself to her. Police say two students also saw him exposed.
The teacher asked Vanorden to leave, police say, and school officials took him to the office, where police arrested him at about 8:05 a.m. Police took Vanorden into custody on charges of public indecency, criminal trespass, endangering welfare of minor and physical harassment.
District representatives says a school councilor immediately addressed the entire choir class, and the district made individual calls to those students’ parents. They also put a statement on the school’s website.
