Man Arrested for Springfield Stabbing

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A man is in the Lane County Jail after he allegedly stabbed someone in the parking lot of a Walgreens.

Police arrived at the Main Street store just after 8:30 on Wednesday night to respond to a call about a dispute. They say that James Jordan had asked a 70-year-old woman for money, and when she declined, he reached into her car and stole some of her property. A bystander intervened and tried to detain Jordan, and the suspect allegedly stabbed him.

The male victim suffered minor injuries and the woman was not hurt. Jordan was taken into custody and faces charges of robbery and attempted assault.
