Man Charged With Assault

corey villaEUGENE, Ore. — A Eugene man accused of barricading himself in his apartment after attacking a man, went before a judge for the first time Monday.

Police are releasing little information about what led up to a S.W.A.T. situation Saturday night on Kinsrow Avenue because they cannot release details before the upcoming trial.

Corey Villa, the man arrested in connection with an assault was arraigned inside the Lane County Jail Court.

According to court documents, this was not villa’s first run in with the law. During the past ten years he’s been arrested for assault, eluding police by car and foot and multiple drug charges. His most recent arrest was on March 6 for a parole violation, possession of meth and driving with a suspended license. He was released from jail on March 30.

EPD also arrested a woman inside the apartment Saturday night. Jessica Morales was also arraigned Monday and charged with conspiracy to commit assault.

Villa and Morales will be back in court May 12.

    Please don’t release this thug again. He obviously can’t handle working a normal job and he can’t get along with humans. He needs to be in a cage for good.
