EUGENE, Ore. — All lanes are now open on I-5 north near Highway 58 following a deadly wreck.
The crash happened around 11:20 a.m. OSP says a man in a van going northbound on i-5 near milepost 188 went off the road and rolled.
Police are still looking into what would have caused him to go off course.
Firefighters had to cut him out of the car.
“Upon our arrival, patient was trapped in the vehicle. There was also concern that there may have been a gas leak, a propane gas leak in the accident. Patient had serious injuries and the patient ended up dying during the accident,” said Joe Raade, South Lane Fire & Rescue Division Chief.
An air ambulance had been called, but the man died before it could take off.
