He was there with some friends from Ashland and at about 7:30 p.m. Emergency dispatch was called as Coleman was struggling in the lake and yelling for help. Coleman went under the water surface before anyone could come to his aid.
The Klamath County Dive Rescue and medical personnel from Rocky Point Fire and EMS along with Fire District 4 responded to the scene. Life saving efforts were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Timothy Coleman was from Sioux Falls, South Dakota and was visiting friends. Coleman didn’t have any ID or documents with his name on them with him or at the residence he was staying at in Ashland. Authorities were told at the time of the death investigation that “Tim” was using an alias to avoid law enforcement detection.
