EUGENE, Ore. — A Eugene man pleaded guilty Tuesday to a mortgage fraud scmeme in Central Oregon.
Peter Wilkinson, 43, is accused of committing bank fraud. In a plea agreement, he admitted to pushing bad loans through a broker in his Bend company, Deschutes Mortgage Group, causing institutions to lose $2.5 million to $7 million.
Among the accusations, court records state Wilkinson and others obtained financing to purchase real estate by giving lenders false home loan and applications.
A judge is set to sentence him in January. Wilkinson could spend up to 30 years in prison and pay a $1 million fine.
