Man Sentenced to Probation for Hate Crime

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Matthew Booster, the man who harassed a black teen and tried to run him over with his truck, bearing a Confederate flag, will face probation for the crime.

It’s part of a plea agreement with the Lane County District Attorney’s Office.

He’ll serve three years probation, must take a cultural awareness class and complete mental health treatment.

Booster must also hand over his Confederate flag to police to be destroyed.
