Man with Three Felony Warrants Arrested

ThomasNEWPORT, Ore. – Newport Police says they arrested a California man wanted on three felony warrants.

Police say around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, a man was spotted walking through a residential area. When officers asked the man a few questions, he provided several fictional names and couldn’t give reason to why he was in the area.

Police searched the man, revealing drugs and drug paraphernalia. They attempted to write him a citation for drug possession, but the man kept providing fictional names.

The man was taken into custody for giving false information to police, he was lodged in the Lincoln County Jail.

The man was identified as Nicholas James Thomas, 29, of Cobb, California, using fingerprint identification. Thomas had three felony warrants for his arrest from Lake County, California. The warrants were for assault with a deadly weapon, battery with serious injury, and assault with great bodily injury.
