March Starts With A Warm Up

CHIEF METEOROLOGIST JUSTIN STAPLETON’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Going into the rest of Thursday night, we’ll stay mild and cloudy with an occasional shower or two moving through. The tropical airmass will keep lows well into the mid to upper 40s tonight and a mild start to the first day of March.

For Friday, some morning fog in the valleys, but its looking like a partly sunny afternoon and a quick jump in temperatures to near 60 in the valley and low to mid 60s in the Umpqua. If you have some vacation time to burn at work, Friday would be the day to do it!  Saturday will also be mild but clouds return by the afternoon and the next rain maker moves in by dinnertime at the coast and overnight into Sunday for more showers to end the first weekend of March.

Next week sees occasional rainmakers  and highs falling back down into the low 50s. Snow levels will drop back into the higher foothills but the storms coming won’t be major winter blasts, just occasional showers and snow showers.

Have a great Friday!
