Marcus Mariota played one quarter, going 6-of-7 for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Backup quarterbacks Jeff Lockie (7-12, 121 yards, TD, 22 rush yards), Jake Rodrigues (7-18, 66 yards, 42 rush yards), Damion Hobbs (5-9, 71 yards, TD, 10 rush yards) and Taylor Alie (3-8, 18 yards, TD, 18 rush yards) all shared snaps.

But it was Allen’s day. The redshirt freshman, who has been winning races for the Oregon track team at Hayward Field, caught a pair of touchdowns in his first spring game. Allen caught two passes for 94 yards and also had nine rush yards on two carries.

Thomas Tyner, of Team Mariasu, ran for 58 yards on ten carries, catching two balls for 26 yards and a touchdown. Byron Marshall only had four carries for five yards to go along with two catches for 11 yards for Team Twifo.

Johnathan Loyd, in his first game action as a Duck football player, caught one pass for a loss of four yards and took a few big hits. Loyd’s fellow Twifo receiver Darren Carrington had three catches for 47 yards and one touchdown catch, toeing the sidelines to haul in the score.

Defensively for Twifo, Juwaan Williams led all players with nine tackles (seven solo). Stetzon Baid had seven tackles, a sack and a tackle for loss. Oshay Dunmore also registered a sack, as did Arik Armstead. Note: “sacks” were basically tags, as quarterbacks were not allowed to be hit during the spring game.

For Mariasu on defense, Tui Talia led the way with five tackles and added a tackle for loss. Joe Walker had four tackles, a sack and a tackle for loss. DeForest Buckner had a sack and 2.5 TFL’s.
