SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — The Mega Millions Jackpot has now soared to more than $600 million for Tuesday night’s drawing.
The lottery company says the odds of getting all six numbers correct are about one in 259 million.
According to the Harvard School of Public Health, you’re more likely to die from a bee sting, which happens to every one in 6.1 million people.
Despite the odds, the jackpot remained the talk of the shop at Bright Oaks Meat on 7th and Main Street in Springfield. It’s already a busy time for them. They have to have more than $3,000 worth of Christmas dinner orders ready by next Tuesday.
This week, their register was seeing even more business. By noon, just under $300 worth of tickets had been sold to folks with dreams of hitting it big.
Sales stop an hour before the drawing at 7:59 p.m.
