SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Thousands of people across Lane County celebrated Easter a day early at the annual Megga Hunt Saturday.
Kids came to the Jack B. Lively Memorial Park to hunt for egg and even meet the Easter bunny.
The event had more than 20,000 eggs on hand for kids to find. The egg hunt has been going on since 1960.
“We’ve been doing this for a long time, in fact 53 years, since the early 60′s. And every year it just keeps getting bigger and bigger and better and better. We’ve got families coming from all over Lane County,” said Mike Moskovitz, Willamalane Public Affairs.
Organizers estimated a crowd of 3,000 people attended the festivities.
