Memorial Services Planned for Gamez

Jenny GamezOAKRIDGE, Ore. — The family of an Oakridge woman found in a suitcase in Wisconsin is now planning her memorial.

Jenny Gamez went missing in 2012.

It was announced Monday that she is one of two women identified whose remains were found in suitcases near Geneva, Wisconsin in early June.

The first body identified was that of 37-year-old Laura Simonson of Minnesota.

Twenty-one-year-old Gamez last lived in Cottage Grove but grew up in Oakridge.

Former Wisconsin police officer Steven Zelich was arrested last week in connection with the deaths.

Sources say he had relationships with both women and told authorities he was involved in their deaths.

Zelich is facing two counts of hiding a corpse. There are no murder charges yet.
