The Springfield Chamber of Commerce and school district hosted a middle school career fair at the Willamalane Sports Complex.
About 800 eighth graders got to sit through mock interviews, make resumes, and talk with different businesses. The Chamber of Commerce says hopefully this event can motivate kids to think about what they want to do in the future.
“We want them to start thinking about what might help them in high school to get to that career so, what type of groups to be a part of or what kind of volunteering they might want to do once they get to the high school level,” said Katie Yeager with the Springfield Chamber of Commerce.
There is also a high school career fair next month at Springfield High School.
