Justin’s Monday Night Forecast Discussion:
Tropical Storm Isaac is about 24 hours or so away from landfall on the Gulf Coast. All indications are it will strengthen overnight into a Category 1 hurricane. Details on track and intensity is here from the National Hurricane Center: ISAAC
Our weather is staying on the mild side over the first few days of the work week with a big trough of low pressure sitting offshore. Tuesday through Wednesday it’ll strengthen the morning push of clouds into the valley and allow morning lows to slip into the low 50s and upper 40s. By the afternoons though, we’ll break up the clouds and get to partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies with highs a bit cooler than average but still pleasant in the mid to upper 70s.
There’s also a SLIGHT chance that we’ll squeeze out a few light showers early Wednesday morning. Most of those chances will remain at the coast and immediate coast range locales.
By Thursday and into the weekend, high pressure once again regains control and we’ll be sunny basically from sunrise to sunset and I’m expecting highs to start to climb back into mid 80s by Saturday and Sunday. Friday night high school games along with the Beavers and Ducks season openers on Saturday should be just fine!
Have a great Tuesday!
