METEOROLOGIST MELISSA FREY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
On shore flow is in full force which means clouds have extended from the coast to the Cascades. The sun will break through eventually this afternoon, but it’ll be a cool start to the day. High temperatures should reach the low 80s for the valley, mid 80s for the Umpqua Basin and mid 60s for the Coast.
This means the pattern of morning clouds and afternoon sunshine will continue Wednesday and Thursday as well as we continue to see southwest flow in the middle and higher atmosphere.
By Friday the on-shore flow should weaken and with winds from the north, we should see less cloud cover. This extra sunshine Friday and Saturday will help bring temperatures back into the mid to upper 80s for the valley, low 90s for the Umpqua Basin and mid to upper 60s for the coast.
Have a great Tuesday!
