RIDDLE, Ore. — The body of a missing Arizona man was found in a wooded area on Monday night after a search that lasted several days.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says 18-year-old Jonathan Croom was found about a thousand feet from his car, which was found last week after he had been missing for several days. His wallet, ID and a book on survival tactics were found inside the car.
Croom’s father says his son was obsessed with the 2007 film Into the Wild and he reportedly told a friend that he was going out “on an adventure.”
Officers are investigating his death as a suicide.
