Deputies Find Missing Man’s Car

EUGENE, Ore. — There are some developments regarding the discovery of a body confirmed to be that of a missing Eugene man, 22-year-old Celestino Gutierrez.

Deputies found Gutierrez’s car abandoned in Mapleton earlier this month. They say it had been used in a bank robbery in Mapleton that day.

An immediate investigation led police to Gutierrez’s body in remote Lane County and David Taylor, AJ Nelson and Mercedes Crabtree. Taylor is from Eugene. Nelson and Crabtree are from the Portland area. Police arrested all three.

Police have yet to confirm the three are connected to Gutierrez’s death. All three are in the Lane County Jail, held on multiple charges including aggravated murder and robbery.

Investigators did confirm they’re suspects in a Creswell bank robbery that happened in June.
