The witness we spoke with doesn’t live far from where the crash happened. He says he was woken up suddenly around 1 a.m. by the sound of a car dragging along a curb before hitting this pole you see still leaning on the corner.
Police say 23-year-old Brooke Milligan was seen driving erratically on Seventh Avenue before losing control of the car, and hitting the curb, two power poles and a mailbox before flipping her car.
The commotion sent a nearby resident rushing out of his home to help everyone get out of the car.
“When I heard there were kids in the car, that’s when I panicked a little bit. My thoughts were just get the kids out of the car and make sure they’re ok. You know they seemed like they were in shock, not crying or screaming or anything, just confused,” said witness Mitchel Estrada.
Milligan and her two children, both under the age of 3, were rushed to the hospital.
Milligan is still at the hospital listed in fair condition. We were not able to get the status on her two young children.
Milligan is facing several charges, including DUII and two counts of reckless endangering.
