Move-in Day for the Ducks

EUGENE, Ore. — It’s move-in day for students at the University of Oregon.

Nearly 3,000 new Ducks are settling into the on-campus residence halls. And when they arrived Thursday morning, they were welcomed with open arms, but not hugs.

For the third year, hundreds of University of Oregon students, alumni, faculty and staff members volunteered to help new students and their parents haul in all their belongings.

Students we spoke with say they’re looking forward to this new chapter in their lives.

“Very excited to meet some new people you know just get moved in the dorms see what Oregon is all about you know. I’m excited for the football game. Just check out the campus, I’m very excited to start college,” said UO student Duncan Moore.

More than 4,000 students are expected to live in on-campus university housing this year. Students come from all over the globe, representing more than 35 countries.
