Names Released in Canyonville Crash

030214.fatalx2.I5_mp90.1CANYONVILLE, Ore. — Police have released the names of two people killed in a two-vehicle wreck, about eight miles south of Canyonville.

Oregon State Police says a 54-year-old roadside mechanic, William Marion Steinbrook, of Yoncalla, was standing on the highway shoulder between a disabled commercial truck and a roadside assistance vehicle around 11 p.m. Sunday.

OSP says a semi-trailer crossed the fog line and crashed into the back of the stopped semi, pinning Steinbrook. He died at the scene. A passenger in the truck that crossed the fog line also died.

The driver of that truck was also injured. The driver of the disabled truck was not hurt.
