Friday morning thousands of people will leave their car in the driveway and hop on the bicycle to get to work because it’s National Bike to Work day.
The Bike Lane Coalition expects over 1,000 local commuters to get on their bikes Friday morning.
Nationally, about a half a million people are expected to participate.
The Bike Lane Coalition says local cyclists rode 2.5 million miles last year, and they say that contributes to between $5 and $8 million for the local economy.
