Nationwide Synthetic Drug Bust

drug ring bustLOS ANGELES (CNN) — Federal, state, and local authorities have busted a nationwide synthetic drug ring.

In question, products meant to mimic the effects of better-known drugs like methadone.

The investigation spanned 29 states and has led to more than a hundred arrests so far.

Authorities seized hundreds of thousands of ready-to-sell drugs and massive amounts of raw materials to make more. They also seized more than $20 million in cash and assets. These numbers are expected to grow as investigations continue.
