EUGENE, Ore. — Neighbors of the former Trude Kaufmann Senior Center are eager for a new occupant to take its place.
Members of the Jefferson Westside Neighborhood Association say they’ve noticed people frequenting the abandoned building.
Neighbors say they would like to see the building put to use so that it would benefit the community.
“I think it’s been boarded up for something like two years now. With the fire that happened recently, and just some obvious disuse, and the look of the building, it’d be nice if somebody moved in here,” said neighborhood association chairman Stephen Heider.
Member say the Oregon State University Extension Services has expressed interest in the building and representatives will present to the neighborhood association on Tuesday.
