EUGENE, Ore. — A set of new artistic bike racks at the University of Oregon celebrates the sustainability of cycling.
The LiveMove Organization wanted to draw attention to and celebrate cyclists, so last year it held a design competition for the new racks.
The winning chosen racks were installed two months ago at UO’s Riverfront Research Park.
“They’re artistic, they’re both beautiful and functional and they’re easy for people to use with all different sizes of bikes, but they’re also something that’s special to us locally because they resemble our local ferns,” said LiveMove President Cortney Mild.
Because the racks are so popular, the group is working to install them all over the city.
