New Cottage Grove Grocery Store to Open

1-14 grocery outlet picCOTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — Cottage Grove is about to get a new grocery store.

The Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is located in the Gateway Plaza, where the old Save-A-Lot used to be.

Right now, if Cottage Grove shoppers want to go to a bigger grocery store, they have to choose between Safeway and Walmart. Grocery Outlet owners say they’re glad to offer a new option.

“I think this one will just compliment the ones that are already operating in Lane County, and so we can make sure we are supporting the entire county and not the highly populated areas,” said Ed Sowa, Store Owner and Operator.

The 12,000-square-foot store will have a soft opening on Thursday and will hold a grand opening celebration this Saturday morning at 8 a.m.
