New Dental Clinics to Open

EUGENE, Ore. — Young children in need can now get dental care free of charge in the towns of Cottage Grove and Oakridge.

Lane County’s Women Infants and Children (WIC) program and Community Health Centers of Lane County have joined together to open up dental clinics there.

Right now there are only two in the entire county, and they’re both in Eugene. Coordinators say it’s a much-needed service.

“We actually have many clients come to our rural clinics that can’t come to Eugene at all. No transportation, no money for transportation. They’re very needy areas, and it’s really helpful that we can go out there and provide services to them,” said Connie Sullivan, SIC Clinical Services Supervisor.

The Cottage Grove Clinic will open its doors Thursday, June 13. The Oakridge location will start on July 19.
