New Kid-Friendly Trail on Skinner Butte

EUGENE, Ore. — A kid-friendly trail at Skinner Butte Park is officially open and ready for kids to explore. Families can now access the “Riverplay” trail, which connects the park’s playground to the top of the butte.

The path is 800 feet long, and crews leveled it and put in gravel this summer to make it more kid-friendly. The trail includes a staircase and a guardrail. The trail improvement project cost the city of Eugene $30,000. The final phase will include a sidewalk, a crosswalk, and signage to guide families to the trailhead.
