EUGENE, Ore. — A downtown park may soon get a makeover. City Council held a workshop Tuesday night to discuss the future of the Charnel Mulligan Park at 17th Avenue and Charnleton Street.
Architects are gathering ideas, as the city looks to renovate the property. Ideas include improving the park’s functionality and safety. More input is recommended.
“This is the first public meeting to just gather input from the neighbors about, all the issues about the park, what the issues are, what their concerns are, what they’d like to see, what they’d like to preserve,” said architect Philip Richardson.
The next public forum will be in February. The city’s looking to start construction by 2014.
