NextStep is Taking Unneeded Electronics

EUGENE, Ore. — Have you considered reducing, reusing and recycling your electronics?

A group called NextStep Recycling wants people to donate their used and unneeded gadgets rather than stashing them away. It takes everything that runs on batteries or plugs, including TVs, radios, stereos and VHS/DVD players.

NextStep says what you may consider trash another person could consider treasure.

“If you have something that still has life in it for somebody else that they could use it, it’s really important to the community to share that resource and just bring it on down. We want to have it. We need to have it,” said John Barnum, Executive Director of NextStep.

NextStep says they make every effort to clear any stored data, and they destroy hard drives. Electronic drop-offs are free.
