Ninkasi Fundraiser to Help Homeless

EUGENE, Ore. — Get a pint and help the homeless.

Ninkasi is hosting a fundraiser Dec. 5 for “Crisis Assistance Helping Out on the Streets” (CAHOOTS).

The group offers a lot of different services, including crisis intervention, counseling and first aid for the local homeless population.

With more people living on the streets, the need is great.

“Homeless clients make up probably 50 percent or a little bit more of our clientele. We see them on a daily basis and a lot of times CAHOOTS is the only service that they access regularly,” said CAHOOTS counselor Robert Parrish.

Twenty-five percent of Wednesday’s Ninkasi pint sales will go to CAHOOTS. The tasting room is open until 9 p.m.
