METEOROLOGIST MELISSA FREY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
The second in a five storm series moves into western Oregon Friday night. Before then we’ll see just scattered showers, a few sun breaks, and highs in the mid 50s. The rain will pick up in the late afternoon, with heavy rain continuing overnight. The freezing level will drop behind this storm from 6,000 feet to 4,500 feet by Saturday morning. This will bring the Cascade Passes several inches of snow by Saturday afternoon.
The rain will change back to showers during the day on Saturday, before the next storm hits Saturday night. This will be the third storm in this series, which will bring heavy rain Saturday night and Sunday morning. Temperatures will also drop Sunday. Highs will struggle to hit 50 and lows will drop to the upper 30s and low 40s.
By Monday we should see a few breaks in the rain, but the next storm is lined up for Tuesday.
Have a great weekend!
