EUGENE, Ore. — A former Oakridge High School baseball coach who pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse involving a former student athlete got probation for his crime.
A judge could have sentenced Larry Boyd up to 18 months in prison, but instead, Boyd will attend sex-offender treatment.
Boyd is not allowed to contact the victim, her family and any other children except his own and certain family members.
In a statement to the court, Boyd took full responsibility for his actions, apologizing to the victim and her family with whom he’s been a family friend for nearly a decade.
In court the victims family said he’s hurt their trust and damaged her love for softball.
