VENETA, Ore. — Even though the Oregon Country Fair doesn’t start for two days, its recycling crew is already in high gear.
The group is in charge of sorting all the trash collected in these barrels.
Bottles get boxed up, the cans get bagged, and they all get turned in.
But the fair’s sustainable efforts don’t end there.
“We try to get all of our produce, all of our products as close to the Country Fair as we can. It supports the regional and local economy and it diminishes or inhibits fuel miles,” said Oregon Country Fair General Manager Charlie Ruff.
The fair also offers free bus shuttles between Eugene and Veneta.
