VENETA, Ore. – The Oregon Department of Forestry will hold a public hearing on proposed rulemaking for the Oregon Smoke Management Plan.
The Smoke Management Plan outlines the management prescribed forest burning on private, federal and other public lands to protect air quality and maintain forest productivity and health.
ODF invites the public for comment on whether the proposed rule changes would achieve the land management goals while reducing the negative economic impact on business.
The hearing will be at 6 p.m. on March 4 at the Lane Fire Authority, 88050 Territorial Hwy.
Two other hearings will be held in White City and Klamath Falls. For more information on these hearings and the proposed rulemaking click here.
