ODOT to Receive Road Project Funds

EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon Department of Transportation is getting a little help for some of its upcoming road projects.

The federal government awarded Oregon more than $28 million to help complete road work and bus-related projects. Some of the projects include improving the shoulder lane on territorial highway for bicyclists.

The Lane Transit District, along with Oregon TriMet and Salem Area Mass Transit, will receive funding to replace transit vehicles.

Four covered bridges in Lane County will also receive money to replace roofs and structural components.

Two million dollars will go toward our state’s scenic byways, including improvements to the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway in Newport.
