EUGENE, Ore. — An event will be held Saturday to discuss the Measure 80 Marijuana Legalization and ballot measures; it will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church on Olive Street.
The League of Women Voters of Oregon Education Fund will conduct a forum at 10:15 a.m. with participants on both sides of the issue. They will answer question prepared by the League, as well as, written questions from the floor.
At 1:00 p.m., Chuck Sheketoff of the Oregon Center for Public Policy will present on how Oregon’s budget could be affected by statewide ballot measures.
The event is free to the public and lunch can be reserved by contacting the League Office at 503-581-5722.

I am opposed to this. We already have huge economic costs to the state from alcohol. We don’t need to add another legal drug to compound the problem. Additionally, children will be exposed to this substance, which in itself is enough reason to vote this down.

I think it is time to change the law and stop fueling black markets not to mention the amount of resources law enforcement waist on fighting pot . It is time to legalize and tax . These are tough times for the state and I think the 140 million dollars annually in revenues for the state ate low estimate . I I will vote yes on this measure it is a good idea
