EUGENE, Ore. — Some Oregon businesses have received a mailing that the state warns is a scam.
Secretary of State Kate Brown says a number of businesses have reported receiving a invoice entitled, “Compliance Filings Center — Annual Minutes Compliance Notice.” It asks for you to send a “Certificate of Minutes” preparation fee of $150 and include detailed information about your business. The address the mailing came from is 4676 Commercial Street SE, #169, Salem, OR 97302.
Businesses can prepare annual minutes and corporate records themselves without paying this fee, the Secretary of State’s Office said.
