Oregon Drivers React to Gas Prices

EUGENE, Ore. — Western Oregon isn’t immune to the rise in gas prices.

A gallon in Eugene is an average of $3.69–that’s an increase of nearly 6 cents over the past week. Even if the price hike isn’t as drastic here as in other parts of the country, many drivers are still frustrated with the increase.

“They don’t tell us why or anything. They just raise it up. That’s not right,” said Eugene resident Jim Wilson.

“It’s difficult for a family to make it with the prices going up so high,” said Roseburg resident Victoria Walker.

Gas is actually a little cheaper now than it was at this time last year, but it’s still almost 35 cents higher than it was a month ago.
