Oregon Education Report Outlines Growth

SALEM, Ore. — The statewide education report card is out Friday, and with it, a list of projects the state wants to implement into the system.

The State Board of Education says Oregon is developing an accountability system that will rate school performance.

The state will continue to adopt higher expectations for elementary and middle school reading to align with national standards. It says changes to the education system are leading to better prepare students for high school graduation.

The Board of Education says Oregon students continue to perform above the national average on the SAT and ACT exams and more students are taking the test each year.
