The conference is the largest equipment show west of the Mississippi.
Local students had the chance to take a tour at the Lane County Fairgrounds. Kids got to learn about everything from what it takes to grow trees and manage forest land to how to operate heavy machinery.
“The vendors have the newest and the greatest. My grandson spent the whole time in the seat of a feller buncher head and learn how to do that. If he had another 15 minutes, he would have been as good as the pros,” said Milton Moran, Logging Conference President.
Organizers say people come from all over the Northwest to attend the show. There are even international guests. The event goes on until Saturday, which is Family Fun Day.
