A new study on U.S. pet ownership ranks Oregon No. 4.
About 64 percent of households in the state own a pet. That’s actually down by nearly 10 percent since the last study in 2006.
Some others are Vermont, New Mexico and South Dakota. States with the lowest pet owning households were Rhode Island and Minnesota.
Veterinarians say unfortunately the report also reveals that fewer dogs and cats are seeing the vet as much as they should.
