ASHLAND, Ore. – Oregon State Police arrested two men Friday morning after finding 30 pounds of heroin in their vehicle.
OSP says around 7:30 a.m. a senior trooper stopped a van along northbound I-5 near milepost 11 for speeding.
During the traffic stop, subsequent investigation found approximately 30 pounds of heroin concealed inside the van’s trunk area, with an estimated value in excess of $600,000.
The trooper arrested Jose Raul Esparza, 26, of Calexico, and Armando Agustin Villasenor Jr., 21, of El Centro. Both men were taken to the Jackson County Jail and face charges of unlawful manufacture, possession, and delivery of a controlled substance-heroin.
OSP Drug Enforcement Section detectives are continuing the investigation.
